A beautiful wine from a near-perfect vintage, this robust Cabernet Sauvignon shows balance and complexity - a blend of dark berry, generous oak notes, clove, and nutmeg. This is a supple and complex wine, full-bodied in style, with a punch of power, ripeness, and elegance from start to finish.

This vintage of Frank Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted using only the finest grapes from the best vineyards in Napa Valley. Sourced primarily from family-owned S&J Vineyard in Napa’s Capell Valley and Benjamin Vineyard located on the valley floor in the heart of Rutherford. Additional vineyard sources include neighboring Quarry Vineyard and Round Pond Estate both in Rutherford as well as Delouise and Shooting Star Vineyard located in Napa Valley. The grapes are fermented and aged in French oak barrels to enhance the wine's structure and add a subtle oak flavor.

The result is a wine that is both elegant and powerful, with a perfect balance of fruit and tannins. It pairs perfectly with a wide range of dishes, including grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and strong cheeses.

Frank Family's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from several different vineyards, largely in the Rutherford area. A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, aged in one-third new French oak, it offers up mixed red and black cherries accented by oaky spice. It's medium to full-bodied, framed by soft, supple tannins, then firms up a bit on the finish. A solid entry-level effort, it lacks concentration but is a ripe, easygoing, steakhouse red at a realistic price. With nearly 50,000 cases produced, it should also be easy to find—and sometimes at a discounted price.

Solid stuff, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon has spicy red and black fruits, cedarwood, graphite, and leafy herb notes in its medium-bodied, pure, beautifully balanced profile. I love its overall mouthfeel, it has ripe, integrated tannins, and outstanding length. This satisfying, workhorse-styled beauty will drink nicely over the coming decade.
